Thank you for taking the time to visit with me... I sincerely hope you enjoy your time here! My love affair with horses started many years ago.

I remember my Grandmother telling me stories about the race horses, trotters, she and my Grandfather bred, raised and ultimately raced. I would hang onto every word and imagine what it would be like to climb onto the back of a beautiful steed and gallop away. Hooves pounding, mane and tail flying as I felt the power of the animal and the press of the wind we raced against. My imaginings became the fodder for my art and those magical horses my subject of choice.

I have always loved rendering horses. There is a majesty and beauty that horses possess, which is in my opinion, unequaled. Over the years I have discovered that every breed of horse has a unique story and specific characteristics that sets them apart. To me, no one breed is more beautiful or intriguing than the next. And so, I found myself choosing my subjects based on a personal relationship I formed with an image or a live horse that tells a story. My goal is to capture a unique moment, feeling or quality in my art that brings life, power and presence to my beloved horses.

My artistic style tends to be realistic; however, if you look closely you will see that in each of my paintings, certain, special characteristics in my subjects are often magnified …. This is how I craft the life, the beauty and the power of the animal... and these specific traits are always what I fall in love with and chose to render.

This is just a small part of my story. I spend many, many hours completing a picture. I am not capable of rushing a piece… it must be right to become alive, begin to breathe and ultimately evoke a feeling of awe for it's beauty and power in the viewer.

For what it’s worth … Thus far… I have been blessed in my journey. My horses have won awards in several competitions, but more important… they live in my heart and mind where many years ago as a child I fell in love.
